Residential Programs
Multifamily Performance Program (MPP)
The city offers free energy and water assessments for multifamily complexes as part of its Multifamily Performance Program (MPP). Multifamily housing includes apartments, condominium/townhomes and assisted living complexes. Participants will receive a site visit from a licensed engineer, a report detailing recommended energy and water savings opportunities, available rebates to reduce implementation costs, and customized technical assistance for implementation of the audit recommendations.
The objectives of this program are to increase energy and water efficiency of multi-family housing and to reduce utility costs for residents, particularly as energy prices continue to increase. This program is a key component of the Climate Action Plan (CAP) that details the city's efforts to meet the greenhouse gas emission reduction goals of the Kyoto Protocol. The program also seeks to better understand the utility usage, savings potential, demographics, and needs of Boulder's multi-family housing stock.
